elicious calabrian figs processed according to the traditional recipe.
The fig arrived in Calabria in an uncertain era, probably at the time of the Greco-Roman civilization by Phoenician travelers who used it as a barter commodity or who, in the dried version, used it as a reserve of calories for the crew's efforts. From then on, its cultivation quickly established itself, particularly in the province of Cosenza, thanks to an ideal pedoclimatic situation. Abbot Giacchino da Fiore expressed himself very significantly about the figs of Calabria: “Nothing less precious, and for the copy and for the perfection he is the fig crop. It begins in the month of June and lasts until the end of December, one always succeeding the other... black, white, other brown, other reddish, but all so sweet that drops of honey flow from the believed mouth, and as if a single opening on the head wasn't enough to spin it, they often still tear themselves apart at the sides."
Delicious dotted figs covered in dark chocolate enclosing a walnut. Perfect as a satisfying snack or as a delicious after meal.
